Started by Chandrakant Dalal, president, J D Institute of Fashion Technology, and RC Dalal, executive director of the institute and co-founder of Indian Film Festival Worldwide, the dream was to create a platform to nurture creative minds.
With a legacy of 30 years, JD Institute is one of the oldest institutes of art and design education in India. It offers courses in fashion, interior, jewellery, fashion marketing & communications, fashion styling, fashion business management, visual merchandising, photography, hair and make-up.
Through landmark alliances, JD Institute ensures that its students get the best exposure through guest lectures, workshops, exchange programmes and other opportunities. Over the years, students have been successfully placed with brands such as H&M, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Pepperfry, etc. They have also showcased their work in film festivals, including the Moscow International film festival, Vietnam film festival, and many more.
The alumni of the institute — like Rocky S, Shane and Falguni Peacock, Reza, Gaurav Chhabra, Urvashi Kaur, Niket Mishra and Maheka Mirpuri — have created a name in the fashion industry.
