Farzi 2 OTT release: When and where to watch, Shahid Kapoor shares an update

The wait is almost over. Shahid Kapoor is ready to slip into the shoes of Sunny, a brilliant, small-time artist, one more time in the second season of his hit series Farzi. The black-comedy crime thriller, created, produced and directed by Raj & DK, originally premiered on Prime Video in 2023. Now, Shahdi has shared an update on its second instalment, which went on the floors last year.

On October 14, Shahid shared a slew of pictures on Instagram featuring his Farzi avatar, announcing that the shoot has almost wrapped up. The actor also revealed why the show’s character deeply resonates with him in real life.

‘As the shoot on FARZI 2 is coming to a close. It only reminds me of how much Sunny lives in me. I am him, and he is me,’ wrote Shahid. The 45-year-old explained that, much like Sunny, he too harbours the same passion and drive to prove himself as an artist.


‘We both started as just a kid off the Mumbai streets with a fire in his heart to tell the world…. look at me. I AM AN ARTIST,’ read Shahid’s caption. The images attached to the post capture Shahid in his rugged avatar, delivering a brooding expression.

More on Farzi 2 and Shahid Kapoor’s last film

Back in March, Shahid shared a set of random glimpses from the sets of Farzi 2. ‘Sunny days are back !! Farzi ing away !!’ read his side note. The actor had confirmed that the series was returning for the second part in February via a social media post.

Previously, Shahid shared some details about Farzi 2 at an event. Calling it his ‘favourite show’, the actor admitted that he was looking forward to the upcoming season. ‘Whatever they have taken me through sounds like a level up from the first season, but it also feels very much like a natural progression of the story,’ Shahid had said back then, adding that season 2 would be much more fun.

In other news, Shahid was last seen in Cocktail 2. The film, directed by Homi Adajania, also starred Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna in important roles. Cocktail 2 was the spiritual sequel to the 2012 film Cocktail, featuring Deepika Padukoe, Saif Ali Khan and Diana Penty.
