Famous people who have learned one or more foreign languages

Microsoft founder Bill Gates recently said he felt pretty stupid for not learning a foreign language.

Here's a list of people who have learned a foreign language, or five:

PV Narasimha Rao



The former prime minister of India could speak and write Urdu, Marathi, Hindi, Telugu and English like a native language. He learnt French and Spanish too.

Gwyneth Paltrow



The Hollywood actress is a pro in Spanish. So impressed were her Spanish fans that in 2003 the town of Talavera de la Reina named her their ‘adopted daughter’.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt



A self-described Francophile, the Hollywood actor was inspired to take on the French after studying French poetry at Columbia University.

Ben Affleck



The Hollywood star put to use his knowledge of Spanish in his movie Argo, where he plays an Argentine character and Runner Runner, which was filmed in Puerto Rico.
