In a city where celebrity restaurants often signal luxury menus and steep prices, one Hyderabad eatery is quietly changing expectations with something refreshingly simple. Imagine walking into a space backed by a well-known film personality and still being able to enjoy a full South Indian meal for less than what a cinema ticket might cost today. That contrast has caught attention online, especially as diners discover a menu built around millets, wellness, and surprisingly pocket-friendly pricing.

A famous actress’s Hyderabad restaurant has become the talk of food lovers after its pricing details went viral, and the name behind it is Rakul Preet Singh.

The actress, known for her work across Telugu, Hindi, and Tamil cinema, has co-launched a dining space called Arambam in Hyderabad. The restaurant is located at Kavuri Hills in Madhapur, an area already known for its mix of tech offices, cafes, and evolving food culture. What makes this place stand out is not just the celebrity association but the idea behind it, a focus on clean eating without making it inaccessible or expensive.

About Arambam

Arambam positions itself around South Indian cuisine with a health-forward twist. A major part of its identity revolves around millet-based dishes, which are being reintroduced in modern, everyday dining formats. From dosas to idlis and even familiar comfort staples like pongal and curd rice, the menu has been designed to feel familiar while still aligning with a wellness-oriented approach.

What has particularly grabbed attention is the pricing. A plate of masala dosa is priced at Rs 80, while a millet dosa comes in at Rs 70. A serving of millet idlis costs Rs 60 for two pieces, millet pongal is priced at Rs 90, and curd rice is available for Rs 80. In a restaurant space where celebrity-backed ventures are often associated with premium pricing, these numbers have stood out for being unexpectedly accessible.

Arambam – Start with Millets is a dine-in restaurant co-owned by actor Rakul Preet Singh along with Ankit Nagori, founder, and Pavan Kumar Kadimala of Curefoods. The concept behind Arambam reportedly stems from Rakul Preet Singh’s personal interest in fitness, clean eating, and mental well-being. That influence is reflected in the menu design, which extends millet-based and ragi-based innovation beyond traditional dishes.

While the Hyderabad outlet has been gaining traction, Arambam has also expanded its presence to cities like Bengaluru, Pune, and Chennai, building a multi-city identity around the same core idea of accessible, health-conscious food.
