Family first: Vedanta boss showers love on daughter & granddaughter, calls them beacon of light in his life

It's all about family for Anil Agarwal.

Last week, the Vedanta Group Executive Chairman took some time off to shower immense love on his daughter Priya Agarwal Hebbar and granddaughter Mahii.

As part of the Daughters' Day celebration during the weekend, Agarwal thanked his daughter for bringing love and meaning into his life.


Agarwal Hebbar, who worked as a public relations professional with Ogilvy & Mather, also founded an animal welfare organisation -Youth Organisation in Defense of Animals, also known as YODA - in 2010. In May 2017, she also became the Additional and Non-Executive Director at Vedanta Resources.


Citing her achievements in Vedanta and YODA, the 67-year-old businessman said he was proud of Agarwal Hebbar's focus. "As I revisit our fondest memories together, I'm reminded of the strong woman you've become," he wrote.


In the 55-second-long video, he said that the mother-daughter duo is the beacon of light in his life.

"From finding happiness to pursuing your passion for protecting animals and environment, and beginning your own journey as a mother, here to my daughter and granddaughter who are the beacons of light in my life," it read.


Agarwal frequently shares a glimpse of his family with his 97.6K Twitter followers. Last year, he revealed that his granddaughter was his biggest blessing. "Every moment with her is special," he wrote.


Agarwal Hebbar, who is in her 30s, tied the knot with banker Akarsh Hebbar in 2013. The couple share a daughter, who is a toddler.
