Fake, moron, tiny clothes: Ahead of 'Gehraaiyan' release, Deepika Padukone and an Instagram influencer have an exchange

In the run-up to the release of her latest film 'Gehraiyaan', Deepika Padukone has got into an exchange with an influencer. As part of the promotions for her latest film, the 'Om Shanti Om' actress was seen making glamorous appearances.

With each promotional event, the actress was seen in several daring outfits. Not just Padukone, Ananya Panday who also plays a key role in the upcoming relationship drama, was seen acing her fashion game.

How it all started

Along with the teaser and soundtrack, Padukone's bold style statements have impressed fans. However, the lead actresses' dresses have not gone down too well with some. Social media influencer Freddy Birdy took to Instagram to share a post laced with sarcasm.

“Newton’s Law Of Bollywood – The clothes will get tinier as Gehraiyaan release date approaches,” shared Freddy in a post on his Instagram account.

Consequently, Padukone shared an Instagram story that has been construed as a jibe on Freddy's comments. The actress shared a meme in her story which read, "Scientists say, the Universe is made up of protons, neutrons, and electrons. They forgot to mention morons". Although the actress did not explicitly name anyone, the timing of the post led many fans to believe that the actress was peeved by the influencer's comments.

Another actress too was caught in the storm. Mrunal Thakur of 'Super 30' was allegedly called out for liking Freddy's post. However, the actress cleared her stance with a tweet. "Bhai you are so mentally sick I wish I could get you some flowers and Slam it on your face and thank you for spreading hate! Just to let you know I admire Deepika. Having said that I feel you must get yourself a life, rather than sitting at home and spreading hate, spread love!" Thakur had responded.

The comeback
It is not over yet, Freddy came back with a rebuttal to Padukone's post. In another post, Freddy mocked Padukone saying that calling him a moron was the most non-fake thing she uttered in her career.

“Dear Deepika, I’m not mocking you for your ‘tiny’ clothes. You can wear your hemlines till your toes and all your ears. For all I care. And thank you for calling me a ‘moron’. It’s the only non-fake thing you’ve uttered in your entire career. Love, Fred (sic).”

The actress is yet to react to Freddy's latest potshot.
