Every time daughter Sana threw a googly at Sourav Ganguly

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has inspired a generation, but who does he get stumped by? His 16-year-old daughter, Sana. Ganguly, aka Dada, was in Mumbai recently, and shared a tidbit about his daughter that made him realise that children are much smarter than we give them credit for.

“Sana woke up one day, some years ago, and said, ‘Dad, I have a meeting in school which is very important.’ I agreed to go, despite having played a game the night before,” the cricketer said. “I sat through the entire ‘open house’ only to realise that there was nothing important about it. I asked my daughter, ‘Why did you ask me to come?’ and she responded — ‘I did not do well this term. If you go, maybe the principal won’t scold me’. Children are very smart,” he said, with a laugh.

The maverick’s daughter pulled another smart one. She would take him to meet her Bengali teacher more often than her mother, coaxing him by saying that the teacher was a cricket fan. “I asked my wife and she told me – Sana has the lowest marks in Bengali,” Ganguly said.
