A kurta/shirt kurta, black and brown formal shoes and an enhancing perfume are also must in a man's wardrobe, says designer Kunal Anil Tanna.
The colour is as neutral as beige and as effortless as grey, says designer Kunal Anil Tanna:

In vogue
“The pandemic has shifted economic priorities. People are more conscious and are opting for ‘value for money’ products. Comfortable fashion has steadily sneaked its way into every man’s wardrobe and the pandemic has only accelerated that trend, making it more prominent. Athleisure hints, cosy textures and vibrant hues are some of the trends I foresee for Indian menswear.”

Dressing for the holidays

“Festive holiday parties are perfect for experimenting with accessories like cravats. For a New Year’s Eve party, I would recommend a deep-toned textured shacket (a shirt jacket hybrid) with a polo-neck and pleated trousers. If you’re attending a virtual wedding, opt for a minimally-textured ivory kurta.”

The essentials
“Every man should have a well-structured achkan, a kurta/shirt kurta, a classic white shirt, black and brown formal shoes and an enhancing perfume.”

Try oyster

“Men are open to experimenting with colour but I feel oyster would be a good shade for any wardrobe. It’s as neutral as beige and as effortless as grey. Avoid jarring and gaudy embroidery patterns.”

One fashion faux-pas you’d never make…
“Skirts for men.”

Yash Dongre Business head at House of Anita Dongre

“I have fine-tuned my baking skills. Although my wife Benaisha and I aren’t vegan, the rest of the house is. So, during the lockdown, vegan baking took centrestage. Benaisha makes the best chocolate mousse cake. It’s made with dates, almond flour and coconut milk — it’s a huge hit. I find baking therapeutic. It’s a precise activity where the outcome is as perfect as the work that goes into it. If you follow the instructions, the end result is good. I love that.”
