In a unique turn of events, Bengaluru's infamous traffic affected even a train, which found itself stuck due to vehicles blocking the railway crossing. A video capturing this unusual scene quickly went viral, highlighting the severity of the city’s traffic woes. The incident occurred at Munnekolala railway gate, near the Outer Ring Road, where a train was brought to a halt, waiting alongside other vehicles that were unable to move. The video, shared by Instagram user Sudhir Chakravarthy, showcased the chaotic situation as the railway gates remained open, but traffic congestion prevented the train from passing through. Railway officials have refuted the claims made in a video circulating online about a recent train incident. Officials told MoneyControl.com that the loco pilot halted the train before Level Crossing after hearing a striking sound, prompting the crew, including the assistant loco pilot and train manager, to conduct a safety inspection of the rake. Contrary to the video’s assertion, the train did not stop due to a traffic jam. The inspection was a precautionary measure initiated by the loco pilot to ensure there were no issues with the train after the sound was heard.


To manage the situation and avoid causing a traffic build-up on the road, the gateman opened the LC gate while the inspection was underway.

Recently, a user on platform X, shared a Google Maps screenshot that brought attention to the worsening traffic conditions. The post compared travel times for a 6-kilometer route between Brigade Metropolis and KR Puram Railway Station.

Surprisingly, the screenshot revealed that driving would take about 44 minutes, while walking the same distance would take 42 minutes. This striking comparison reflects the intensity of Bengaluru's traffic woes, where vehicles are often stuck in gridlock, making walking a faster option.
