Etihad Airways sees customers sneaking out their in-house products as a compliment
Airlines and hotels are always devising new methods to prevent their customers from sneaking out their in-house products. But Calum Laming, vice-president, guest experience, Etihad Airways, sees the act as a sly seal of approval. "This is, in fact, the greatest compliment to us," he says.

Someone recently sent Laming photos of a hotel room in Turkey. "Would you believe it? They were using the linen we use in our business class," he says. "We have a growing social media presence and incidents like these, where people take away stuff, get out."

Headphones and eye masks in airlines are popular theft targets but Laming says that it depends on the category of fliers too. "In economy, it is the headrest and in the business class, the blanket is the most popular."
