Sometimes just a pin lock or a password on your phone is not enough. If you’re constantly leaving your BlackBerry on your desk and worrying about someone swiping it, get the free Alert Me — it’s an anti theft alarm app but one that prevents your phone from being stolen in the first place (rather than track it when it’s gone).



Just download the app and set a PIN. The app uses the phone’s accelerometer and gyro sensors to detect movement and sounds an alarm that can only be deactivated when the PIN is re-entered. The app works in minimised mode and even if the phone is in standby mode.

Boom Hoodie

Clothing brand FreeCultr has introduced an innovation they call Boom Hoodie — a hoodie with built-in earphones. The wire is sewed along
the inside lining of the jacket to avoid any tangling issues.

The 3.5-mm jack that you plug into your phone or music player is inside the right zipper pocket. The idea is that you connect your phone and place it in your pocket so that you can go running/jogging without worrying about the phone falling out. The earphones are inear type — audio output is above average with excellent treble and they work well to block out ambient noises too.

The problem is that the hoodie only comes with one universal size earplug and may not fit everyone. Washing instructions are provided in the box and on the website: you need to roll up the Hoodie in a certain way for washing so as not to damage the earphones (which are not removable).
