ET Launch Pad: Eight new gadgets you can buy

iBall CompBook
iBall has launched super-affordable laptops with Windows 10. They’re aimed at students and first-time users and come in two variants: CompBook Excelance (11.6-inch HD display) and CompBook Exemplaire (14.1-inch HD display). Both are powered by a quad-core Intel Atom processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage (expandable, up to 64GB) and a 10,000mAh battery (claimed 8.5 hour battery life). Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI, USB 2.0 ports and dual Speakers.

Panasonic Eluga I2
Panasonic has added some new variants to its Eluga i2 smartphone. There’s now an option of 2GB or 3GB RAM for improved performance. You get a 5-inch HD display along with dual cameras (8MP rear, 5MP front), a 1Ghz quad core processor, 16GB storage, microSD slot for expansion (up to 32GB cards supported) and a 2,000mAh battery. Other features include dual SIM slots, 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, FM and Android 5.1.

Micromax Evok
This is Micromax’s new sub-Rs 10,000 dual SIM 4G phablet. It has a 5.5-inch HD display with 2.5D curved edges and is powered by a 1.4Ghz octa core Snapdragon 415 processor. Other specifications include 3GB RAM, 16GB storage and a 3,000mAh battery. Around the back is a 13MP rear camera with dual-LED flash, 5MP front facing camera and a microSD slot. It will be available exclusively on Flipkart.

VU PremiumSmart LED TV
Vu has launched four new smart LED TVs with screen sizes of 32, 40, 50 and 55-inches. All the TVs feature built-in WiFi and come with multiple HDMI ports, USB ports, and an MHL port. The remote controls on the TVs have direct shortcut buttons for Netflix and YouTube. Other features include a quad core processor, gaming centre and various on-demand video services.

MEIZU m3 Note This is the successor to the m2 note from last year. It looks similar but has updated specifications. The m3 note is powered by a Mediatek Helio P10 processor, has 3GB RAM, 32GB storage and a larger 4,100mAh battery. There is also a fingerprint sensor in the home button. Other specifications remain the same: a 5.5-inch full HD display, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, dual SIM, 4G, WiFi and Bluetooth.


LG Stylus 2 Weighing 145 grams, the LG Stylus 2 comes with a stylus pen that has a nano-coated tip for accuracy. You get a 5.7-inch IPS HD display, a 1.2Ghz quad core processor, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB storage and 3,000mAh battery. It comes with Android 6.0 along with various built-in proprietary functions that work with the stylus.

This new company aims to make its mark by launching a budget phone running Android 6.0 out of the box. You get a 5-inch HD display, 1Ghz quad core Mediatek MT6735 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage and a 2,500mAh battery. There is a 8MP rear camera with dual LED flash, 2MP front camera with LED flash, microSD slot for expansion and 4G support.

Moto G Plus
The fourth generation Moto G smartphone will be available in a Plus variant and a standard variant to be launched later this year. The Plus variant is the company’s first device with a fingerprint sensor, is available in 2GB RAM/16GB storage or 3GB RAM/32GB storage. It has a 16MP rear camera vs a 13MP on the standard variant. Both devices have common specifications including a 5.5-inch full HD display, octa core Snapdragon 617 processor and a 3,000mAh battery. You get a 5MP front camera, microSD slot for expansion, 4G connectivity and fast charging support. It runs Android 6.0 and will be available exclusively on Amazon India.
