ET Awards 2018: Karan Johar prepped for host job with spectacles, well-knotted tie and game face

Daughters, sisters and wives were all smiles as their loved ones won big at The ET Awards for Corporate Excellence 2018. There were beaming faces as respective members stepped ahead to be felicitated.

Tanya Dubash, daughter of Adi Godrej, chairman, The Godrej Group, couldn't be happier. Decked in a white tailored suit with a white clutch, she was a picture of poise and pride as she stood by her father's side.

“I feel so happy. It’s well-deserved. We will go out for dinner after the award function to celebrate dad’s achievement,” she had to say.

Amrita Puri, daughter of Aditya Puri, MD, HDFC Bank, dazzled in a red-and-white pantsuit combination. The top banker's daughter also revealed that Puri Sr's time-management skills were exemplary.

“My father accomplishes a lot with his efficiency that we, as a family, often take for granted. He can give us a run for our money with his discipline and time-management skills. An occasion like this puts things into perspective and reminds us to take note of his prowess. I am extremely proud of him.”

For Geeta Gopalakrishnan, sister of Shantanu Narayen, CEO, Adobe Systems, this win added to the tally. Just last week, the Indian-American Narayen, was named by Fortune in its 2018 Business Person of the Year list.

“I have recently written a book that showcases our grandmother’s personality traits. My brother typifies and reflects all her attributes, especially humility and generosity. It has given him success. I feel happy tonight.”

Vaishali Sinha, wife of Sumant Sinha, founderchairman, ReNew Power Ventures, was ecstatic about her better half's accomplishments.

“It has been an exciting November. Sumant got the distinguished alumnus award by IIT- Delhi. Now, he has been recognised by The Economic Times, which is a fine validation. This is an important and a happy moment in our journey together.”

Madhuri Genomal, wife of Sunder Genomal, founder-MD, Page Industries, was all admiration for her partner, and his achievements.

“Sunder named the company Page Industries after his mother Parpati Genomal. He admirably embodied and upheld the principles that she stood for and has taken the business to great heights. I am sure his mother is smiling from up above. We are so proud of him.”
