Eric Vergnes, President of Montblanc Middle East, Africa and India was on his fourth visit to Mumbai, to launch a new boutique. And soon after the event, Vergnes was back on a plane heading off for his next meeting across the ocean. As he is busy globetrotting, there’s one thing he always does on board, but never in his everyday routine — watch television. “I find it to be a bit of a waste of time.

Before you realise, you’ve spent so much time watching TV. In fact, I have not owned a television for years. The only time I catch up on a series is when I am flying. I prefer to entertain myself by reading a book or going outdoors,” he says.

Vergnes also loves trying out new cuisines and he tells us how he loves spicy food. “I am a huge fan of Indian food. I’m still trying to figure out which region what comes from, but it has never disappointed me,” he says. He credits his lack of television to make time for his favourite activity, diving. “I dive with sharks quite often. If I don’t see big animals or sharks or rays, when I dive, I am disappointed. The most exciting thing I’ve seen under water are the manta rays. They are so graceful and beautiful.” The man sure knows how to keep busy.
