Superstar Rajinikanth is celebrating his 72 birthday today. The actor who has an impressive body of work continues to dominate the box-office with his films. Over the years, his iconic dialogues, distinct monologues, and style have made fans go gaga. Perhaps, at present, Rajinikanth is the only actor in his 70s to have an indomitable impact on cinemas and remain a strong crowd-puller.

From his first film to the recent hit 'Annaatthe', Rajinikanth continues to rule the hearts of his fans. And, it is not just his fans alone, several personalities from the film industries in India continue to look up to him. On his birthday, numerous actors took to their social media accounts to wish the legend.

Malayalam megastar Mammootty wished the ‘Kuselan’ actor by sharing an image from Mani Ratnam’s classic ‘Thalapathi’. Mammootty and Rajnikanth played pivotal roles in the gangster drama. “Happy Birthday Dear @rajinikanth have a great year ahead. Stay Happy, Healthy & Blessed always,” tweeted Mammootty.

Actress-turned-politician Khushbu Sundar hailed the superstar as a trendsetter and someone who has upheld principle and dignity. “Wishing the greatest #SuperStar of Indian cinema, the man whose actions speak louder than words, a hero who defined the actual meaning of heroism, a trendsetter, above all a man of principle & dignity. @rajinikanth sir, a very happy birthday!” wrote Khushbu.

Meanwhile, the team from his upcoming film ‘Jailer’ shared a montage with several crew members wishing the icon.
Several other south Indian film stars took to their Twitter account to wish the superstar. Mammootty’s son and pan-India actor Dulquer Salmaan shared a unique graphic portrait of the actor.
The superstar will be next seen in film-maker Nelson Dilipkumar’s action comedy ‘Jailer’. The film will feature Ramya Krishnan, Shiva Rajkumar, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu, and Vinayakan in key roles. The film produced by Sun Pictures will have its teaser released on December 12. The film will be released on April 14, 2023.
