Entrepreneur Supriya Shah reveals the secret behind her 'shining' armour

All that sparkles may not always be precious. It may just be a well crafted piece of costume jewellery. The quality of such costume jewellery can be so exceptional, that an untrained eye could never tell the difference, feels Supriya Shah ( Swati Piramal's niece), who founded a costume and silver jewellery brand almost three years back.

The young entrepreneur has created costume jewellery for different occasions for her high powered customers. From a client who needed statement pieces for her son's destination wedding to a group of 200 ladies who wanted baubles on their travels to Dubai, she's designed costume jewellery that costs anything from Rs 30,000 to Rs 3 lakh.

She feels it's the ease of handling it that counts. “No one wants the hassle of expensive, real jewellery when they are travelling. Or running around, taking care of guests and functions," she says. It's also the wearer who counts, of course. Like a New York based client, who's a regular at such high profile events like the Met Gala. Who will even dare ask her if the jewellery is real or not?.
