Employee was threatened with loss of job by boss for taking day off. He has the last laugh: ‘It is better to have a family…’
An employee faced job loss threats from his boss for taking paid time off. The employee chose to resign, stating family is more important than a job. He emphasized that family remembers you, but companies replace you.

The employee ignored the threat and took the day off. When he rejoined office, his manager asked him to give him a “good reason” as to why he should not be laid off from his job.
The employee didn’t lose his composure or beg his boss to reconsider his decision but calmly submitted his resignation. The boss now backpedalled.
“Employee: Big clients won’t sit by my hospital bed if I’m sick. Only my family will. Here is my resignation. Boss: No, don’t take this too far. We can talk about it. Employee: It is better to have a family than a job. If you die, your family will never forget you, but your company will replace you in a week…”
The boss then requested him to serve a one month notice while the company looks for a suitable replacement and was declined. The employee pointed out that he was ready to fire him immediately, he should be replaced in the same way.
