Emirates deployed almost 1 lakh additional seats to airbus A380: VP Essa Sulaiman Ahmad
Looks like jumbo size is what Indian travellers are attracted to — going by the overwhelming response to the Emirates super-jumbo airbus A380 since it launched in July 2014. "Almost 1,00,000 additional seats were deployed on the route," says Essa Sulaiman Ahmad, VP India & Nepal, Emirates, in an email response to ETPanache. Emirates began its daily flights between Mumbai and Dubai on the world's largest aircraft last year.

In FY15, Emirates A380 to Mumbai carried 3,49,831 passengers with 2,86,511 in Economy, 53,470 in Business Class and 9,850 in First Class. "The business class segment has been a great success," Ahmad says, revealing that apart from corporates, film stars and politicians enjoy the A380's exclusivity.
