Elvish Yadav issues clarification on his spat with Maxtern, says YouTuber threatened to burn his parents, filmed his outburst

Controversial social media influencer Elvish Yadav has finally issued a clarification after a video of him thrashing fellow YouTuber Sagar Thakur went viral. An FIR was lodged against the ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ winner for assaulting Thakur.

Hours after he was summoned by the Gurugram cops for interrogation, Yadav shared a video in which he exclaims why he ended up thrashing Thakur. In an Instagram video, he claimed that Thakur, who goes by the name Maxtern online, filmed the entire incident and provoked him to the point he failed to reign in his temper. “It was his friend's shop, where he had a complete set-up with camera. It was pre-planned. He even had a mike at his chest when he was hit in the video. It was planned from before, and how we can use him like this,” said Yadav in the video.

Yadav said he had gone to a clothing shop when Maxtern approached him. “Maxtern had everything planned. There was a camera hidden and he also had the microphone on. If you see the video, you can hear the sound of thrashing. So he planned everything and knew how to use it. People are saying Maxtern was alone and I went with 10-12 people. But the truth is he had 4 people with him and the people with me were not there to beat up. But they were actually stopping me,” he told Hindustan Times. He went on to claim that Maxtern had tried to irk him by threatening to burn his parents alive. He also claimed that the incident may have been an attempt by his left wing critics to malign him.


“I want to ask everyone how will you react if someone threatens your family, your mother...After the fight, I reached out to him to solve it. I called him home but he did not come. The next day, he filed an FIR and then questioned why 307 (attempt to murder) was not imposed on me. The Left lobby which has always been against me because I speak about Hindutva is supporting the call," he claimed.

In the FIR, Thakur accused him of trying to break his spine. “I, Sagar Thakur, also known Maxtern, would like to bring your attention a grave incident of assault and threat to my life perpetrated by Elvish Yadav, which necessitates immediate legal action. I am a well-known content creator specializing in gaming entertainment, actively producing content on YouTube since 2017," read the FIR according to an ANI report.

Who Is Sagar Thakur?

Thakur is a fairly popular YouTuber with a subscriber count of 1.6 million. He also has s 8,90,000 followers on Instagram and 2,50,000 followers on X. As per a report by the Hindustan Times, he is a resident of Delhi.
