Elon Musk worried about a 'Terminator' like scenario erupting from artificial intelligence

When the robot-apocalypse arrives, you know who’s going to be ready for it? Maverick billionaire-investor Elon Musk.

In an interview with CNBC, he revealed why he’s an investor in an artificial intelligence company called Vicarious.

“I like to just keep an eye on what’s going on with artificial intelligence. In the movie Terminator, they didn’t create A.I. to… (trails off)… they didn’t expect, you know some sort of Terminator-like outcome. But you have to be careful. You want to make sure that the outcomes are good, not bad.”

At which point the interviewer suggested he could always escape to Mars (in his Space X rocket, maybe?). But Musk was not convinced: “The A.I. will chase us there pretty quickly.”.
