Elon Musk celebrates India's population explosion, restores Twitters blue tick; Amitabh Bachchan hails 'Musk brother'

India has just hit a (dubious) milestone. As per a recent United Nations report, India is all set to surpass China as the world’s most populous nation on July 1.

While many nations have reacted to this news with various degrees of alarm, ‘Chief Twit’ (and Twitter CEO) is nothing short of gleeful at this development. On Saturday (April 22), the billionaire took to Twitter to celebrate India’s population explosion.

“Demographics is destiny,” wrote the entrepreneur on Twitter. He also retweeted a post that ranked countries per their population numbers and density.

The Twitter boss has always been a firm advocate for increased birth rates to fight ageing populations. “Population collapse due to low birth rates is a much bigger risk to civilization than global warming,” he wrote in August, last year.
Musk recently hit headlines for making the blue tick - the microblogging platform verification tool, a paid feature. However, as many celebrities refused to shell out $8 per month for the blue tick and numerous fake profiles inundated the platform, Musk restored the blue tick badges for all the high-profile accounts.

Many A-listers heaved a sigh of relief as they got their verification badges back. Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan paraphrased the famous, ‘Tu Cheez badi hai mast mast, tu cheez bari hai mast!” song from the 1994 Akshay Kumar-Raveena Tandon song, ‘Mohra, and inserted Musk’s name instead of the word ‘Mast’. “T 4624 - Hey Musk brother! We thank you very much! U, Neel Kamal seems lost in front of our name! Now tell brother! The song Gaye Ka Man Kart Hai Hamar! Sunbo's? Take it heard: "You thing is big musk musk... You thing is big, Musk," he wrote.
Other B’town stars like SRK, Alia Bhatt, and Virat Kohli, who lost their blue ticks, got them back as well.

Human rights activist and female empowerment advocate Malala Yousafzai wrote that she was delighted to have her blue tick back so that everybody knows that she is not faking it. Singer-composer Armaan Malik appeared rather nonchalant about the whole affair and wrote that he did not pay for it, and that if it was taken away from him again, he would not be bothered by it.
Earlier, Musk revealed that he paid for the blue ticks of a select few celebrities, such as Stephen King, William Shatner, and LeBron James.
