Portugal coach Fernando Santos shared an incident when a confident Eder walked up to him and said he will score. And so he did.

The beauty of football is that in an instant it can make a legend. Portugal’s Eder was almost a nobody before the Euro Cup final. In fact, he was known as a clumsy guy who rarely scored.

But after the 28-year-old found the net with a rasping rightfooter in extra time, his name entered the record books.

Portugal coach Fernando Santos said, "When he came on he said ‘gaffer (boss), I am going to score' and the ugly duckling scored — he is now a beautiful swan.".
