Ed Sheeran breaks up with girlfriend Athina Andrelos

LONDON: Singer Ed Sheeran has split from his foodie girlfriend Athina Andrelos following rumours that they had been heard arguing at last month's BRIT Awards.

The "Thinking Out Loud" hitmaker confirmed the couple have parted ways after they had been experiencing difficulties.

When he was questioned on his relationship status during an interview on Australian breakfast radio show "The Kyle and Jackie O Show" on KIIS 1065, he said, "I wasn't single, I was in a relationship for a long time."

Pressing him on the subject DJ Kyle Sandilands asked the 24-year-old star if he's single now, to which he admitted, "Yes."

The 24-year-old multi-million selling artist began dating the foodie - who works for celebrity chef Jamie Oliver - last year, and despite arguments there had been speculation they were planning on moving in together.
