This is Mercedes' F 015 Luxury in Motion, a carbon fibre-and-aluminium-bodied concept that's so full of technology, it's almost not a car any more. The talking point with the F 015 is its ability to drive itself.

With help from stereo cameras, radar and a gazillion sensors, the F 015 reduces someone who used to be the 'driver' to a spectator. The plethora of LEDs at the front and back light up in a colour that denotes the driving mode: White when being driven by a human, and blue in autonomous mode.

The interior is lounge-like, and to that end, Mercedes has garnished it with walnut wood veneer flooring, glass, and leatherclad cushions set in polished aluminium chair pods which swivel to provide a face-toface seating configuration.

A total of six screens are present inside, and can be controlled by gestures, eye movement or simple touches. And, since it is connected to the internet, you could very well have a proper business meeting inside this, and not have to go to your workplace.

Someone say "win-win"? Powered by a hydrogen fuel cell stack and electricity, the F 015 cracks the 0-100kph run in 6.7 seconds, and offers a range of 1,100km. It'll probably never see the light of day, but you will see some of the more believable bits find their way into the next-generation S-Class.
