Rahul and Garima often share glimpses of their mountain life in Manali on their joint Instagram account. Besides talking about the cost of living and perks, they also reveal the potential drawbacks of such a lifestyle, leaving it up to the netizens to decide for themselves. In the latest video, Garima highlighted 3 mistakes that should be avoided for anyone dreaming of leading a life in the mountains.
Plan your shifting
According to Garima, before moving to Manali, she and her husband had the idea that a transport company would help them pick up their luggage and deliver it to their new home in Manali. But it was far from a hassle-free experience. In reality, the couple had to hunt for local labourers to unload their luggage because the movers only transported the belongings and did not assist with unloading at the destination, which Garima admitted was a real challenge back then.
Choose a stay near a healthcare facility
Garima warned everyone not to get too carried away by picturesque views, as the priority should be staying in a home that is near a hospital or a healthcare facility. She recommended checking the distance first as a medical emergency in the mountains can quickly become stressful if help is located far away.
Staying fit is a priority
Garima’s final suggestion was fitness, which she deemed non-negotiable before shifting to the mountains. She revealed that although mountain life is beautiful, featuring abundant natural beauty, you have to walk a lot every day. Some roads are steep, rocky, and can have stairs, requiring strong movement. So, if your fitness is good, you can enjoy, otherwise, it can cause problems. Hence, Garima urged everyone to focus on their fitness before planning to move.
