The buzz around Jr NTR’s next big film is only getting louder. The actor has joined hands with KGF and Salaar director Prashanth Neel for a massive action drama that is currently being referred to as Dragon. Though the title is said to be tentative, the project has already become one of the most talked-about Telugu films in production. With high expectations riding on the collaboration, fans are eager to see what this powerful combination brings to the big screen.

Streaming details of Dragon

The film is presently being shot in Jordan, where the team is filming an intense 20-day schedule packed with action sequences. Industry reports suggest that once this schedule wraps up, more than 60 per cent of the shoot will be completed. Jr NTR is said to be undergoing a striking transformation for the role, with sources hinting that audiences will see him in a fierce, never-before-seen avatar.

Meanwhile, fresh details have emerged about the film’s post-theatrical streaming plans. According to reports by 123Telugu and OTTplay, streaming giant Netflix has secured the digital rights of the film in what is being described as a record-breaking deal. The reported price tag stands at around Rs 125 crore, making it one of the biggest OTT deals in Tollywood and the highest ever for a Jr NTR starrer.

Interestingly, Jr NTR’s previous release, Devara, was also streamed on Netflix and reportedly garnered impressive viewership numbers. Trade sources claim that the new agreement for Dragon includes certain performance-based clauses. If the film does not meet box office expectations, the streaming premiere could be advanced under revised terms.

On the other hand, if the film turns out to be a blockbuster, the OTT release may be delayed, allowing the makers to maximise theatrical revenue and possibly receive added benefits.

There were reports of creative differences between Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel over certain script changes, which allegedly led to a brief delay in shooting. However, insiders now say the concerns were sorted out amicably. The script adjustments were reportedly made, and the project is firmly back on track.

Actress Rukmini Vasanth, who gained attention for her role in Kantara, plays the female lead in the film. With Neel’s track record of delivering large-scale action entertainers and Jr NTR’s commanding screen presence, expectations are naturally sky-high.

The film is expected to hit theatres in the summer of 2026. While the official title announcement is awaited, likely to be made in Hyderabad soon. Stay tuned for more updates!
