Dragon Ball Super: Beerus OTT release date is here: When and where to watch the anime featuring Goku’s battle against the God of Destruction

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is set to make a comeback to the screen with a new iteration of the anime bringing Goku’s fight with one of his most powerful foes back to streaming services in October 2026.The new edition will retell major story arcs from the original Dragon Ball Super series such as the arrival of Beerus, the God of Destruction, and his quest for the legendary Super Saiyan God.

But, anime fans in India might have more than one option for streaming to consider.

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus OTT release in India

Netflix has announced that Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will premiere on its platform in India in October 2026, with October 17 reported as the release date. The streaming platform has not yet announced the release time.


Netflix Anime announced the series in a post on X on October 1, sharing a teaser featuring Beerus arriving on Earth in search of Goku. The clip sets up a confrontation between the Saiyan warrior and the powerful deity.

Crunchyroll, meanwhile, has announced an October 11 streaming date for the enhanced anime as part of its Fall 2026 lineup. According to IGN India, the release will be available in several regions, including India, the United States, Canada, Australia, Southeast Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

The episode-wise release schedule and total number of episodes have not yet been confirmed.

What is Dragon Ball Super: Beerus about?

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is made by Toei Animation, and is about what happens after Goku and friends defeat Majin Buu.Earth is living in a time of peace and Goku continues to train not knowing that a new threat looms on the horizon.

Beerus wakes up from a long sleep and hears about the Saiyan who defeated Frieza.The God of Destruction, intrigued by Goku and the reports of his strength, sets out to find him.

Their meeting threatens the fate of Earth and introduces Goku to an opponent whose power presents a challenge unlike any of his previous battles. This arc is about Beerus searching for the Super Saiyan God forms.

The enhanced edition also revisits the Resurrection 'F' storyline that reintroduces Frieza, and the Universe 6 arc that brings in new fighters and expands the broader universe of the series.

New Anime vs Original

The original story and character designs were very much tied to the franchise’s creator, Akira Toriyama. Beerus, who first appeared in the 2013 film Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, became a major figure in the wider Dragon Ball universe.

The enhanced edition was announced at the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event in January 2026, alongside Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol.
