Fans of Goku and the Dragon Ball universe have a new reason to get excited. Dragon Ball Super: Beerus has unveiled its first full trailer, and it promises more than just a familiar story with a fresh coat of paint. The upcoming anime brings back some of the most popular characters while giving the early chapters of Dragon Ball Super a major visual and narrative upgrade.

For viewers in India, however, one important detail is still missing. An official OTT platform and streaming release date for Dragon Ball Super: Beerus have not been announced yet. The story takes place several years after Goku and his friends defeated Majin Buu. With Earth enjoying a relatively peaceful period, Beerus awakens from a long sleep and learns about the Saiyan who defeated Frieza. His search for this mysterious warrior eventually puts him on a collision course with Goku.

The trailer features plenty of action while also showcasing the upgraded animation and reworked scenes that will distinguish this version from the original series.

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is an enhanced version

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is not a completely new story. Instead, it revisits the early storyline of the original Dragon Ball Super, which first aired between 2015 and 2018.

Toei Animation has reportedly gone back to the existing material and made extensive changes. These include redrawn sequences, re-rendered footage, additional cuts and a reconstructed narrative. The production also includes newly recorded dubbing along with updated music and sound effects.

The idea is to give the older storyline a fresh presentation while making the action sequences more visually impactful. The project is also expected to bring the storytelling closer to the original concepts associated with creator Akira Toriyama.

Will Frieza return in Dragon Ball Super: Beerus?

One of the biggest talking points from the trailer is the appearance of Frieza. The character can be seen inside a regeneration chamber towards the end of the footage.

His appearance has already led to speculation among fans about where the enhanced anime could go next. Some viewers believe the project could eventually move beyond the Beerus storyline and explore the Resurrection ‘F’ arc.

The trailer also includes glimpses of characters associated with later parts of the Dragon Ball Super story, including Hit and fighters from the Universe 6 arc. However, it remains unclear how much of these later storylines will actually be included in the upcoming series.

The Japanese premiere date has been confirmed for October 11, 2026. The series will air on Fuji TV.

Before that, the first episode will receive an advance screening at New York Comic Con on October 8, 2026. English dub voice actors Jason Douglas, Ian Sinclair and Monica Rial are also scheduled to appear at the Dragon Ball Super: Beerus panel at the event.

According to several reports, the enhanced anime is expected to consist of six episodes. However, viewers will have to wait for further official information regarding the complete episode schedule.

The upcoming series will also feature new theme music. The opening song is titled “ONOGAMI” and has been performed by MEGATERA・ZERO.

The ending theme, “Kan Peki No Peki,” comes from singer-songwriter VK Blanka. Both artists have also shared comments about their involvement with the project.

For Indian viewers, the streaming details remain unclear for now. There is no officially announced India OTT platform, streaming date or streaming time for Dragon Ball Super: Beerus.
