Dr Mufazzal Lakdawala held his popular ‘Coffee With Muffi’ event

It was a coffee session with its own rapid fire round, yet hosted by an amiable Dr Mufazzal Lakdawala, not the sharp tongued director Karan Johar. Sunday saw the city’s most famous bariatric surgeon Dr Lakdawala hold his popular ‘Coffee With Muffi’ event to celebrate 10 years with his unique support group of patients.

Amongst Dr Lakdawala’s more wellknown patients are leading builder M P Lodha, industrialist Dilip Piramal, Union minister Anil Deshmukh and State minister Nitin Raut, as well as Bollywood star Salman Khan’s mother Salma. Asked at the rapid-fire round who he considered his most popular politician patient, Dr Lakdawala was quick-witted enough to say, “Nitin Gadkari made us famous but Venkaiah Naidu stands out as the ideal patient.

He follows diet instructions to the T, with a regular half-hour workout.”
