Dr D's column: Why it's important to lose the 'messiah complex'

Dr D wants people to be more modest.

Dear Dr D,
I absolutely killed it at work last week and I’m sure my customers are not going to see me in the same light ever! In the past I am told I used to be called by a derisive nickname alluding to my alleged lack of intelligence and charisma.

That name was... what was it... I think it was something rhyming with “Gappu”. Anyway, no matter because all that’s behind me now.

And how did this happen? How? How? You want to know? No? I’m telling you anyway. I made a superb intervention and then I walked down the aisle and kissed the bride!

No, wait, that was a dream I had. Oh yes, I walked across the floor of the house and I hugged my opponent. He was stunned. He was flabbergasted (he puts the flab into flabbergasted!). And then I strode heroically back and capped it off with some cool eye signals. What a dude! (me) Mic drop!

My opponent seeks to embarrass me when all I seek is the good of my people.

If 125 crore Indians walk TOGETHER! India will move forward 125 crore steps. I say to you: IT + IT = IT. Indian Talent + Information Technology = India Tomorrow.

I promise you — if you work 12 hours, I will work 13. If you work 14 hours, I will work 14. And if you work 24 hours you will still not work more than me. My 5F formula and my 3S equation will totally change this country.

And so I say to all of you: Let’s do this TOGETHER! Everyone follow me now.

Dear Names withheld,
The two of you sound like you’re too full of yourselves. Please be more modest and lose the messiah complex.
