Dr Dre named the highest paid musician of 2014

LOS ANGELES: Rapper-producer Dr Dre has been named the highest paid musician of 2014 after banking $620 million.

The 49-year-old star landed the top spot with a figure nearly six times higher than Beyonce who was named second in the Forbes list.

Beyonce's this year earnings totalled $115 million. Dre's massive earnings came from his music and electronics company, Beats, which he co-founded in 2008 and sold it to Apple in May 2014 for $3 billion.
