Dominic and The Ladies Purse OTT release: When and where to watch Mammootty's Malayalam thriller online?

Dominic and The Ladies Purse follows the story of Dominic, a retired police officer turned private detective. Struggling financially, he agrees to track down the owner of a lost ladies’ purse in exchange for waived rent. However, what starts as a simple task soon escalates into a complex investigation. The contents of the purse link to a cold case involving two missing persons, leading Dominic and his assistant through a trail of secrets and hidden truths.

The film is directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon in his Malayalam debut. Mammootty not only plays the lead role but also backed the project under his production house, Mammootty Kampany. The cast includes Gokul Suresh, Sushmita Bhat, Siddique, and Viji Venkatesh in prominent roles.

Mixed Reception and Streaming Delay

Despite high expectations, the film had a lukewarm response at the box office and received mixed reviews from critics. This contributed to delays in securing a digital release. Initially, reports claimed Prime Video had acquired the film’s streaming rights. Later, there was speculation that ZEE5 had obtained rights for both Dominic and The Ladies Purse and Bazooka, another Mammootty-starrer. However, no official announcements followed.


A recent tweet by Franil France, known for sharing film updates, reignited interest by claiming that the movie would release on Prime Video on August 28, reported 123. The same tweet also mentioned Sony LIV as a possible additional platform, though none of this has been confirmed by the production team.

Streaming Platform: What We Know So Far

While several media outlets such as 123telugu and social media updates have pointed towards Amazon Prime Video as the confirmed platform, there’s still ambiguity surrounding the final details. Earlier reports had even suggested a March 27 release, which did not materialize.

Nonetheless, current developments strongly indicate that Dominic and The Ladies Purse will finally arrive on Prime Video by late August 2025, offering audiences the chance to catch up on Mammootty’s detective thriller from the comfort of their homes.
