Dolly Parton's manager withdraws lawsuit against her nephew Bryan Seaver following a dispute over the singer's estate.
The company, She's Alive LLC, was founded to manage and protect the late singer’s estate. It is run by manager Danny Nozell. The manager had secured a temporary restraining order against nephew Bryan Seaver and his security company.
As per reports by the NYT, court filings alleged that Parton’s nephew had sent threats, including a text message threatening to exact revenge on behalf of the entire family. It further claimed that the threats were aimed directly at the company She’s Alive’s personnel, counsel, and business partners and also vowed to “destroy the entire brand.”
The judge had issued temporary restraining orders against him, which have now been voluntarily dismissed in a Nashville court.
As per AP news, the manager has dropped the civil lawsuit against Seaver, ending the rift in the singer’s close circle. It further reported that the Tennessee court gave no reason why the complaint was withdrawn. However, a court filing from previous day showed that the two sides had reached an agreement.
NBC News reported that the nephew denied the accusations regarding threats and shared that the messages taken out of context. AP reported that Seaver shared, “I have never threated physical harm to Mr Nozell, to any SAL employee, contractor, attorney, advisor, or business partner, or to anyone else associated with SAL,” Seaver said. “I have no intention of doing so.”
He claimed that the cause of the dispute was between his security company and the company that operates Parton’s hotel and museum in Nashville. He admitted that he was “angry” and “upset” over the failure to receive payment of more than $250,000 for completed work.
