Docu-feature on Sachin Tendulkar: cricketers, celebs share stories

Mumbai: A docu-feature is being made on Bharat Ratna winner, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. Multiplex chain, Carnival, has tied up with Mumbai-based 200 Not Out which will be producing the project. The rights have been acquired from the World Sports Group.

The feature will be one-of-its-kind with real-time shots and never-seen-before archival footage. Tendulkar has shared stories from his life for the feature which will be directed by London-based director James Erskine.

Cricketers and celebrities have contributed to the project by sharing anecdotes about the Master Blaster.

The title of the movie is being finalised from a bunch of over 500,000 options received following an online contest conducted among fans.

"We are delighted to be a part of this exciting project and are thankful to 200 Not Out and Sachin Tendulkar. It is a challenging project which involves developing a new genre in the Indian context. We are confident that the production team will give viewers a different experience with many never seen moments from the professional and personal life of the Master Blaster," says Shrikant Bhasi, Chairman, Carnival Group. "I look forward seeing Sachin's story on the big screen."

Ravi Bhagchandka, Founder of 200 Not Out says, "The challenge with the project is that everything about Sachin is already known. However, the team is up for the challenge. The director and his team viewed over 1000 hours of archival footage to make the movie."

The film will be released in over 3000 theatres across the world.
