We love medical dramas and especially Korean medical dramas. Apart from Hospital Playlist, one of the latest favourites is Dr Cha. This Korean Drama series is directed by Kim Dae-Jin and written by Jung Yeo-Rang, ended on a brilliant note. Now, as per the latest reports, the medical series is currently getting a Season 2. Yes, you read it right!

Is Doctor Cha Season 2 coming soon?

Starring Uhm Jung-Hwa, Kim Byung-Chul, Min Wook-hyuk, Myung Se-bin, Song Ji-ho, Jo A-ram, Baek Joo-hee, Park Jun-Keum, Kim Mi-Kyung, Lee Seo-yoon, So A-rin, Park Chul-min, Kim Byung-Choon, Lim Hyoung-soo and Kim Yea-eun, Doctor Cha Season 1 was released in 2023. According to South Korean media outlets SPOTV News and Soompi, early discussions for Season 2 have already begun. The good news? Uhm Jung Hwa and Kim Byung Chul are expected to reprise their roles as Cha Jeongseok and Seo Inho.



Their agency, Alien Company, confirmed the casting, stating both actors are on board for the next chapter. However, the drama's production company SLL has shared that "nothing has been concretely discussed yet," suggesting that while the cast is set, production is still in its early planning stages.

For the unversed, Doctor Cha was a massive hit during its original run. The medical family drama reached a peak viewership rating of 18.546%, making it the eighth highest-rated K-drama in Korean cable TV history. Its mix of humour, heartfelt moments, and a strong female lead won over audiences around the world.


In Season 1’s finale, Jeongseok chooses herself over love. She receives a liver transplant from her estranged husband Seo Inho and accepts his request for divorce. She also turns down Roy Kim’s love confession. A three-year time skip reveals that she’s now living independently, running a small clinic and cafe, and continuing to offer free community medical services.
