PANAJI: If you are in Goa and thinking to drive your vehicle after consuming liquor it is more likely that you will end up in jail this weekend.

Goa police has announced special drive against drunken driving in the state during this weekend as the state is abuzz with domestic tourists due to summer vacations.

"It was decided to hold special drive on Saturday and early hours of Sunday to book cases under section 185 of motor vehicle act for drunken driving," Suman Goyal, Superitendent of Police (Traffic) has said in a circular issued to all the police stations.

As per the circular the overnight drive would be held across the state at the same time.

"The (checking) points have been identified considering the availability of alcometers and likelihood of booking maximum drunken driving cases," the circular, copy of which is with , reads.

Goyal has said local police station in-charge and traffic in-charge of the areas shall utilise maximum resources available with them to book maximum cases.
