Diwali throwback: When Etihad Airways celebrated the festival of lights in the sky

Guests travelling from New York to Abu Dhabi with Etihad Airways on Diwali were in for a pleasant surprise. From specially-designed lanterns to jalebis and barfi, a mid-air celebration awaited them.

It was a sight to behold as the lights on airline's flagship Airbus A380s dimmed for guests to raise their glowing lanterns that transformed the cabins into a sea of glimmering lights. Goody bags awaited those flying onwards to Mumbai, via Abu Dhabi at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport.
