Diwali 2026: Best Instagram captions and Bollywood songs for your festive photos, Reels and Stories

Diwali is a time when people are busy posting pictures of their festive outfits, family get-togethers, decorated homes and evenings with friends on social media. Many people also look for captions and songs that fit the mood of the festival and pick the right picture. Be it a traditional picture in ethnic wear, a family picture clicked during Lakshmi Puja or a short video of diyas being lit, the right words and music can make a festive post more personal.

Here are some caption and music ideas to consider before posting this year on Instagram Reels, Stories, Facebook posts and WhatsApp status.

Diwali captions for Instagram: From festive outfits to family photographs

Instead of using a long greeting, people can choose a short caption that reflects their mood or the occasion.

Some options include:

Tradition never goes out of style. Happy Diwali!

• A little sparkle, a little tradition and a whole lot of festive spirit.
• Dressed in colours, celebrating in style.
• Let the festive glow do all the talking.
• Diwali lights and memories that last a lifetime.

Meanwhile, family photos often require warmer captions. Some captions that can be used are:

• The best part of every festival is celebrating it with your favourite people.
• Same traditions, new memories and another Diwali together.
• Home is brighter when everyone is together.
• Festivals come and go but memories with family remain.
• Nothing makes Diwali more special than being surrounded by loved ones.

For pictures of rangoli, diyas and home decorations, captions can emphasize the traditional aspects of the festival. Captions like "Every diya brings a little more light into our lives", "A home filled with lights and hearts filled with happiness" and "Let every corner shine this Diwali" can be used alongside decoration photographs.

Funny Diwali captions for social media

Not every festive post needs an emotional greeting. People sharing pictures with friends, videos from Diwali parties or photographs of their favourite sweets can opt for something humorous.

A few options are:

• Came for the celebrations, stayed for the mithai.
• The outfit is ready, the camera is charged and the sweets are disappearing.
• Diwali shopping deserves its own festival.
• My favourite Diwali tradition? Going back for another serving of sweets.
• One more photograph before the celebrations begin.
• Adorned in my finest for a day full of prayers and blessings.

Diwali Instagram Reels & Stories Songs From Bollywood

Music is another key piece of social media posts around the holidays. You could choose a fun Bollywood number for an outfit transition or dance video, or well-known family celebration songs for group photos and clips from a gathering.

Here are some of the popular options for people looking for music for their Diwali Reels:

• Deewangi Deewangi – Om Shanti Om: Great for videos when friends and relatives are coming over for a party.
• Bole Chudiyan – Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham: A popular choice for traditional outfits, family gatherings and group dance videos.
• Gallan Goodiyaan – Dil Dhadakne Do: Works well for clips of family celebrations, friends dancing together.
• Nagada Sang Dhol – Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela: Its energetic beats make it a good option for traditional dance videos.
• Aaj Ki Party – Bajrangi Bhaijaan: A fun party song for party invites and festive get together videos.
• Shava Shava – Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham: A perfect pick for family dance performances and celebration clips.
• Bijuria – Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari: The song by Sonu Nigam and Asees Kaur can give a nostalgic and upbeat touch to festive videos.

Diwali puja devotional songs and diya pictures

If you are sharing pictures from Lakshmi Puja or videos of lighting diyas, devotional music might be more apt than party tracks. Along with photographs and videos from the puja, songs like “Om Jai Jagdish Hare”, “Shree Ramchandra Kripalu Bhajman” and traditional Lakshmi Aarti can be played.

Close-up photographs of diyas, rangoli and festive home decorations can be set to soft instrumental music with the flute or sitar.
