Khushboo Patani Condemns Spiritual Leader Aniruddhacharya Remark on Women
Khushboo Patani, a former Indian Army officer and the elder sister of Bollywood actress Disha Patani, has publicly condemned spiritual leader Aniruddhacharya Maharaj for his controversial remarks about women in live-in relationships. The issue surfaced after a video of the guru’s speech circulated online, drawing backlash for its derogatory tone and gender-biased content.

Viral Video Sparks Outrage

In the widely shared video, Aniruddhacharya can be heard stating that young men are bringing home 25-year-old women who have, according to him, “been with multiple partners.” The comment, interpreted as a direct attack on women’s choices, quickly went viral and drew sharp criticism from several quarters, including Khushboo Patani, who did not hold back her displeasure.

Taking to social media, Khushboo posted a video response in which she challenged the language used by the guru and the mindset behind it. She said that had the statement been made in her presence, she would have directly confronted him and explained the inappropriateness of such language. She also took issue with the fact that the comment was aimed solely at women, without any reference to the men involved in such relationships.

Double Standards and Gender Bias

In her video, Khushboo questioned the double standards evident in Aniruddhacharya’s speech. She pointed out that a live-in relationship involves two consenting adults, and yet, the criticism was reserved only for the women. She accused the guru of promoting outdated and sexist ideas, and labelled both him and his supporters as contributors to societal degradation.

Further intensifying her criticism, she used strong language to describe the followers of the spiritual leader, calling them “naamards” (cowards) and “anti-nationalists.” According to her, supporting individuals who demean women under the guise of tradition is harmful to the fabric of society.

Aniruddhacharya Issues Apology

Following the public outcry, Aniruddhacharya—also referred to by some as “Pookie Baba”—issued an apology. However, it did little to ease the criticism from Khushboo and others who saw his original comments as deeply offensive and regressive.

Who Is Khushboo Patani?

Khushboo Patani hails from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. She served in the Indian Army for over a decade, retiring as a Major in 2024. With a background in Electronics and Communication Engineering, she later transitioned into wellness and personal development. Currently, she works as a fitness coach, meditation instructor, and spiritual guide, and has built a substantial following for her bold and outspoken views.
