Steven Spielberg's Disclosure Day OTT streaming date

Steven Spielberg’s latest science-fiction film Disclosure Day is heading to streaming in India after its theatrical run, giving viewers another chance to watch the film built around one of the biggest questions in science fiction: what would happen if evidence of extraterrestrial life was finally made public? The film had arrived in cinemas in June 2026.

When will Disclosure Day release on OTT in India?

Disclosure Day will be available to stream in India on October 12, 2026, on the Peacock Hub on JioHotstar.

The film had already become available for digital purchase and rental on platforms including Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, Vudu and Google Play Movies from July 21. Its JioHotstar streaming release, however, marks its arrival as part of the platform’s streaming catalogue.

The streamer teased the central mystery of the film while announcing the date: “The world has been living with a secret it was never supposed to know. The people who knew about it have spent years making sure it stays hidden. Until someone decides it’s time the world knows the truth.”

What is Disclosure Day about?

The story follows Margaret Fairchild, played by Emily Blunt, a television meteorologist, and Dr Daniel Kellner, played by Josh O’Connor, a cybersecurity expert.

The two become involved in uncovering information connected to a secret government operation surrounding extraterrestrial life. As they investigate, they find themselves trying to understand evidence that could change humanity’s understanding of whether humans are alone in the universe.

The film centres on the consequences of that discovery, including the question of why such information would have been kept hidden and what could happen if evidence of extraterrestrial contact reached the public.

Who stars in Disclosure Day?

Alongside Blunt and O’Connor, the cast includes Colin Firth, Eve Hewson and Colman Domingo.

Blunt plays Margaret Fairchild, while O’Connor takes on the role of Daniel Kellner. Firth plays Noah Scanlon, with Hewson as Jane Blankenship and Domingo as Hugo Wakefield.

The film also features Wyatt Russell, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Elizabeth Marvel, Hettienne Park, Tommy Martinez, Gabby Beans, Jeremy Shamos and Brandon Wilson in supporting roles.

Steven Spielberg reunites with David Koepp

Disclosure Day marks another collaboration between Spielberg and screenwriter David Koepp. The pair have previously worked together on films including Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Spielberg directed and produced the film from a screenplay by Koepp, based on a story by Spielberg. Kristie Macosko Krieger and Spielberg produced the project under Amblin Entertainment.

Disclosure Day opened in theatres on June 12, 2026. Box office reports put its worldwide theatrical earnings at around $240 million, with one report giving the figure as $241.3 million.

The film received mostly favourable reviews, although the reporting notes that it did not reach the standing of some of Spielberg’s better-known science-fiction films, including E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Minority Report.
