Diljit Dosanjh starrer Amar Singh Chamkila misses out at International Emmy Awards 2025. Check full winners list

India had high hopes at the International Emmy Awards 2025 as Diljit Dosanjh and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali represented the country with their lauded biographical drama Amar Singh Chamkila. Diljit earned a nomination for Best Performance by an Actor, while the film competed in the TV Movie/Mini-Series category. However, the film returned without any wins from this year’s ceremony. Diljit missed out on the Best Actor honour, which went to Oriol Pla, while Amar Singh Chamkila lost the Mini-Series category to Lost Boys & Fairies.

The result left fans slightly disappointed, especially after the strong appreciation the film received globally and the buzz surrounding Diljit’s powerful performance. The Bollywood team attended the gala event in New York along with Netflix India’s Monika Shergill and Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh. For those who still haven't watch the film, Amar Singh Chamkila is currently streaming on Netflix. It also features Parineeti Chopra in lead role.




Diljit was nominated alongside David Mitchell (Ludwig), Oriol Pla (I, Addict) and Diego Vasquez (One Hundred Years of Solitude) in the Best Actor category. Meanwhile, Amar Singh Chamkila competed against Herrhausen: The Banker and the Bomb, Lost Boys & Fairies and Victory or Death in the TV Movie/Mini-Series race. Although the film could not secure a trophy, its presence at the prestigious awards marked another proud moment for Indian cinema on the world stage.
