Dilip & Shalini Piramal take top post at Indian Merchants Chamber

Dilip Piramal, chairman, VIP Industries was appointed the president of Indian Merchants Chamber on June 18, three days after his wife, Shalini Piramal, took over the top job at the Chamber's ladies wing.

There is expectation of collaboration and when asked about the possibility of joint projects, Shalini said, "It is said that behind every successful man is a woman. But, women also need men around." She hopes to get the main chamber involved in supporting causes like child malnutrition and female foeticide. These are causes that the couple plan to focus on and support in the long-term, beyond their respective tenures at IMC.
