Noticed how professionally shot videos are steady while those shot by us are shaky? It's because those cameras are stabilised using precise equipment that counters our naturally shaky hands.
If you're into capturing videos on your smartphone, you can get professional help in the form of a hand-held gimbal (stabiliser). Digitek, an Indian company that sells photography and smartphone accessories, has launched a battery-powered gimbal that works with most smartphones.
Pop your smartphone into it and you'll instantly get smooth movements and steady videos. It works using a gyroscope sensor that tracks movements in real time. Three motors counter the effect of hand movement — you move left, it moves right.

The device has a 4-way joystick, shutter button and a zoom lever. Using the joystick, you can get smooth panning and tilt movements, thanks to the quiet motors. The shutter button works just like a Bluetooth remote to capture a photo and start/stop video recording in any camera app. To use the full functionality, you need to download a specific app called Gimbal Pro (available for both iOS and Android).
Once your pair Digitek with your phone using Bluetooth, you can use the Gimbal Pro app to capture photos and videos. Within the app itself, you can change settings, capture wide panoramas and time-lapse videos. The app is not very polished, though, and certain functions like automatic tracking did not work during our trials. Your experience may vary depending on what phone you use.
The box includes a hard carry case, a mini tripod, lanyard and a micro USB cable. Although the MRP is Rs 10,995, it’s priced down to Rs 7,995, which makes it a value buy. One of the primary competitors, DJI Osmo Mobile 2, is available for a little bit more at Rs 9,999, but it gives you a vastly more usable app and better quality.

NEX is Vivo’s latest all-screen smartphone design.
They’ve announced two in the range already: NEX A and NEX S. NEX A has a Snapdragon 710 processor with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage while the NEX S has a Snapdragon 845, 8GB RAM and 128/256GB storage.
The other big difference is the fingerprint scanner: NEX A has a conventional one on the rear while NEX S has one under the display.
Both have a 6.59-inch super amoled displays with a screen to body ratio of 91.2% and 4,000mAh battery.
