Digger OTT release date and platform details: When and where will the Tom Cruise starrer apocalyptic satire stream after theatrical run

Tom Cruise’s latest film, Digger, takes the actor away from the high-speed action and dangerous stunts that are often linked with his Mission: Impossible and Top Gun films. Directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, the apocalyptic satire is currently running in cinemas, but viewers waiting to watch it at home may not have to wait.

The film opened in theatres on October 2, 2026. Although its digital release date has not been officially confirmed, Warner Bros.’ recent distribution pattern offers an indication of when audiences could rent or buy it online and when it might arrive on a subscription streaming platform.

When will Digger release on OTT?

Digger is set to make its debut on digital rental and purchase platforms in November 2026, Tom’s Guide reports. Warner Bros. typically releases its films to premium video-on-demand (PVOD) services 31 to 45 days after their theatrical debut.

Following that pattern, the film could become available to rent or buy at home as early as November 3. However, a longer theatrical window of around 45 days could push its digital release to November 17. The studio has not confirmed either date.

Where can you watch Digger online?

According to Forbes, after its digital rental and purchase release, Digger is expected to stream on HBO Max. Most of the Warner Bros. movies arrive on the subscription service between 77 and 84 days after their theatrical release, although this varies from film to film.

Following that same pattern, Digger could start streaming on Dec. 18 or Dec. 25, 2026. A later release in January 2027 also remains a possiblity if the studio extends its theatrical run. For now, Warner Bros. has not announced an official PVOD or HBO Max release date.

What is Digger about?

In the film, Cruise plays Digger Rockwell, a powerful energy tycoon who tries to present himself as humanity's saviour while facing the consequences of a climate catastrophe he has set in motion.

The film is directed by Iñárritu, known for Birdman and The Revenant. Its ensemble cast includes Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg and Jesse Plemons.
