Did you know that Satya Nadella, Shantanu Narayen and Ajaypal Banga went to the same school?

The hallowed halls of a stately school in Hyderabad, once the learning ground of Nizams and aristocratic families, now holds its head high for producing the royalty of today’s times — Silicon Valley and tech biggies — the most famous being Microsoft’s Satya Nadella. However, there are two other alumni of the school with corner offices in global conglomerates. Adobe’s Shantanu Narayen and MasterCard’s Ajaypal Singh Banga.

Turns out, these two big guns walked the same corridors of the Hyderabad Public School, just a few years apart, back in the 1970s. Now, years later, Banga and Narayen found themselves on the same page again, quite literally, when they featured as the ‘Businesspersons of the year’ — two among only four Indians in a list of 20 global CEOs — in a business magazine recently. Francisco D’Souza (CEO, Cognizant) and Aditya Puri (MD, HDFC Bank) also feature in the power list.
