Did Peter Dinklage spit his chewing gum in his wife's mouth before collecting his Emmy?

Peter Dinklage was feted with his second best supporting actor Emmy for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister in the series Game of Thrones.

This is the actor's second award for the same show - previously he had won an award in 2011 for the Best Supporting actor.

On Sunday evening, when Dinklage went up on stage to collect the honour he had this to say: 'Was not prepared for this at all ... was just sitting there chewing gum'.

On being announced the winner, the baffled actor chose to kiss his equally surprised wife Erica Schmidt, twice! And the smile from his better half after Dinklage got up to head to the stage, clearly says it all.

Game of Thrones went on to win its first best-drama award after five seasons since the show started. 'GOT' eventually bagged 12 Emmys in 2015, the most ever by a series in a single year.
