Did Gerard Pique cheat on a pregnant Shakira in 2012 with Israeli model Bar Rafaeli?

The 12-year-old relationship between Colombian pop star Shakira and Barcelona & Spain football star Gerard Pique ended abruptly after shocking news of his extramarital affairs came to light. Recently fresh details have emerged that Pique may have cheated on Shakira way back in 2012 with Israeli supermodel and Hollywood superstar Leonardo Di Caprio’s ex-girlfriend Bar Rafaeli. The couple were two years into their relationship during this time and were expecting their first child.

According to Hollywood journalist Jordi Martin, that was the first time the footballer cheated on the ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ singer. Their relationship went through a crisis during that period when the pop sensation found some suggestive messages and intimate pictures of the two in her boyfriend’s mobile phone.

Rafaeli, however, has denied this alleged hook-up and claimed they were just good friends.


The soccer star is currently dating PR professional Clara Chia Marti who also works for Pique’s movie and TV production company Kosmos. The journalist claimed that this relationship also had illegitimate beginnings. Marti was the girlfriend of Pique’s best friend’s brother.

“I came to know that Pique was smitten from the first time he saw her and they exchanged phone numbers. They started dating in secret. Pique not only stole this guy’s girlfriend, but also fired him from Kosmos and hired the girl in his place,” Martin was quoted as saying.

Martin admitted that he and Pique had a bitter relationship over the years and he always had access to the latter’s whereabouts in Barcelona as “it’s a small city.”

Pique reportedly is fed up with the constant attention and has taken steps to stay away from the media glare. He had asked the court to protect the safety and privacy of his children.

According to Spanish newspaper El Periodico, the ‘Waka Waka’ singer and the football star are reportedly trying to maintain a cordial relationship for the sake of their two sons Milan and Sasha.

The couple met while the singer was filming the music video for her World Cup song ‘Waka Waka’ in 2011.
