Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has finally addressed his recent bizarre behaviour. For the uninformed, the ‘Black Adam’ star was recently in the news for urinating in bottles and showing up late for shooting. A report by The Wrap claimed that the superstar’s lack of timeliness and discipline astonished $250 million.
In April, sources told The Wrap that the action star—known by his WWE moniker "The Final Boss"—had reportedly arrived on set up to eight hours late on multiple occasions, forcing the crew to work around his absence.
The Rock Reacts To Rumours
In an interview with the magazine GQ, the ‘Red Notice’ star did not deny the claims. When quizzed if he was late on the sets, he said, “Yeah, that happens.”The Wrap also accused him of peeing in bottles to “save time.” Reacting to this rumour, the actor stated, “Yeah, that happens too. But not that amount, by the way. That was a banana amount. That’s crazy. Ridiculous. I’ve said a thousand times: ‘Hey, I’m here. Come and ask me. And I’ll tell you the truth.”
Kasdan, who directed Red One, defended the actor and told GQ that Johnson “never missed a day of work ever. He has a lot going on. He can be late sometimes, but such is Hollywood—that’s the case with everybody. Honestly, I’ve made three big movies with him. I’ve never seen him be anything but great to every single person on the set.”
Evans claimed that Johnson would work out in the morning before showing up at work. “But this is something that the producers, the director, and it’s all his team, so they all know this. So it’s all basic. It’s not like he’s late unexpectedly, and I wouldn’t even call it late. He comes in slightly later on certain mornings, but it’s part of the plan. It’s worked into the schedules, and everyone knows it, so he shows up when he’s scheduled to show up.”
Red One, also starring Lucy Liu, is set to premiere in U.S. theaters this Friday, November 15.
