Did Navya Naveli score 99.99 percentile in CAT to get into IIM Ahmedabad? Professor replies

Navya Naveli Nanda, the granddaughter of Bollywood legends Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, has recently commenced a significant academic journey by joining the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Ahmedabad. Over the next two years, Navya will be pursuing a Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP) MBA, a move that has garnered much attention and sparked discussions on social media.

However, her admission to IIM Ahmedabad has not been without controversy. Following her social media announcement, some critics questioned the legitimacy of the BPGP MBA program, labeling it as not a "real MBA." Others speculated whether Navya was admitted through a special quota, given her celebrity lineage.

Navya Naveli's Praised By Professor

Addressing the buzz, Promila Agarwal, an associate professor at IIM Ahmedabad, took to X (formerly Twitter) to comment on Navya's admission. "She got a solid CV btw (by the way). You don't necessarily need CAT. Irrespective, hats off to everyone for being courageous enough to sign up for a rigorous program. PS: Just like other students, looking forward to her posts cribbing abt hard life at IIM-A," Agarwal said.

Navya's academic background is equally impressive. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Digital Technology and UX Design from Fordham University in the USA. Beyond her studies, she is a social entrepreneur and runs a non-profit organization called Project Naveli, aimed at promoting gender equality. She is also involved in managing a part of her father's family business.

Navya Naveli's IIM Announcement

Navya, 26, shared her excitement with her followers on Instagram, posting several pictures from the lush green IIM Ahmedabad campus. In one of her posts, she wrote, "Dreams do come true! The next 2 years... with the best people and faculty. Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP) Class of 2026." She also shared images of herself in a black suit, standing proudly next to the IIM sign, and captured moments with new friends she met at the institute. An Instagram story from Navya featured a cake-cutting celebration, where she expressed gratitude to her teacher, Prasad, for assisting her in cracking the CAT/IAT entrance exams.

Despite the chatter, Navya seems unfazed and is embracing this new chapter with enthusiasm. Notably, while she comes from a family deeply rooted in Bollywood, her mother, Shweta Bachchan, made it clear in a recent event that Navya does not plan to pursue a career in acting, unlike her famous relatives.
