Stranger Things Season 5 finale (Netflix)

Netflix will begin the year with the final chapter of Stranger Things Season 5, titled The Rightside Up. Streaming in India from January 1, 2026, the finale brings the story back to its beginnings, revisiting familiar locations and emotional themes from Season 1. The narrative focuses on the group’s final attempt to stop Vecna, with Eleven and her friends coming together for one last confrontation. Alongside the central battle, the finale also addresses character growth and unresolved personal journeys that have shaped the series over the years.

Haq (Netflix)

Haq, starring Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi, is a courtroom drama inspired by the 1985 Shah Bano case. The film follows a Muslim woman’s legal struggle for maintenance and justice after being abandoned by her husband along with her children. Directed by Suparn Verma, the story places focus on legal rights, dignity and the emotional cost of prolonged court battles. According to Binged, the film is expected to stream on Netflix from January 2, though the makers are yet to issue an official confirmation.


Land of Sin (Netflix)

Netflix will also release Land of Sin on January 2. Starring Krista Kosonen, Mohamed Nour Oklah and Peter Gantman, the series centres on a detective investigating the disappearance of a teenager. The film portrays the courage and sacrifice of Indian soldiers who defended their post against overwhelming odds. According to reports, the film will begin streaming on January 16, nearly two months after its theatrical release.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (JioHotstar)

Set nearly a century before Game of Thrones, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will premiere on January 19. The six-episode fantasy series is adapted from George R. R. Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas and explores the early history of Westeros. Peter Claffey stars as Ser Duncan the Tall, alongside Dexter Sol Ansell and Bertie Carvel in key roles.
